Disney characters and the voices behind them

I have pretty much recovered from the loss of the Pixel Painter. Mentally, yes, but then, I don’t have any other painter to draw with. I am practicing on GIMP 2.6, a painter recommended by my friends. I won’t be posting any drawings, as of now.

Lets forget it all, and have a look at this list! We love Disney Characters, but it’s pretty rare that we take a step ahead and think who voiced them. Of course, there are some which everybody knows, like Idina Menzel aka Elsa and Josh Gad aka Olaf…

You Probably Didn’t Know This Character Was Voiced By…

There are some Disney characters whose voices you know right away. Robin Williams as Genie? Totally. Kristen Bell as Anna? Obviously. But have you ever found yourself watching a Disney movie and asking yourself who voices that character? We know we have, which is why we decided to do some sleuthing to see who else has lent their voice to a Disney movie. The results surprised even us, as we discovered some pretty famous folks are behind our favorite characters.

Tony Goldwyn as Tarzan

tarzan voice

Before he was President Fitzgerald Grant III on Scandal, Tony Goldwyn voiced the King of the Jungle, Tarzan. We now want to see Fitz do the Tarzan yell.

Rowan Atkinson as Zazu

zazu voice

Mr. Bean is Zazu? Rowan Atkinson’s got some serious range.

Jodi Benson as Barbie

Barbie Voice

Yes, we all know Jodi Benson is the voice of Ariel, but did you also know she voiced Barbie in Toy Story 2 and 3? No wonder we liked Barbie so much.

Joey Lawrence as Oliver

oliver voice

A young Joey Lawrence was behind the voice of Oliver. So it’s really no surprise that this cat is extra adorable.

Joaquin Phoenix as Kenai

kenai voice

We enjoy the fact that one of our favorite dramatic actors is also one of our favorite Disney bears.

Mindy Kaling as Taffyta Muttonfudge

taffyta voice

Taffyta isn’t exactly the sweetest racer in Sugar Rush, but she is voiced by the sweet Mindy Kaling. Mindy is also lending her voice to Disney Pixar’s upcoming film, Inside Out!

Ming-Na Wen as Mulan

mulan voice

We actually aren’t that surprised that Mulan is voiced by the equally fierce and awesome Ming-Na Wen of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Christian Bale as Thomas

thomas voice

The dark knight is Thomas? We’re so befuddled and intrigued by this discovery.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jim Hawkins

jim voice

We loved baby Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Angels in the Outfield, and we love him even more as the voice of Jim Hawkins in Treasure Planet.

Bea Miller as Molly

Molly Voice

One of our favorite new singers is also the voice of Andy’s little sister, Molly in Toy Story 3.

Scott Weinger as Aladdin

aladdin voice

Oh yes, Steve from Full House is the voice of Aladdin. Remember the Full House episode where they all travel to Walt Disney World and Steve was dressed as Aladdin? Well, we do, and it made our childhoods.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez as Kanga

Kanga voice

She’s behind the songs of Frozen, but you might have not known that Kristen Anderson-Lopez voiced Kanga in 2011’s Winnie the Pooh. She and her husband Bobby Lopez also wrote songs for that movie as well.

John Krasinski as Frank McCay

frankie voice

At the beginning of Monsters University, Mike impresses as one of the most famous scarers, Frank McCay. That blue monster was voiced by a blue-eyed guy name John Krasinski (cue dreamy sigh).

  1. Um, Sarah, you don’t know me, but you clearly copied this from the OMD (Oh my disney) blog. Don’t try to deny it, t has the same words and everything. Not that i am really against it, its just that try to do something more original instead of taking someone else’s idea. Okay? That’s copying.

Let me know what you think, it means so much to me! ღ
